I’ve seen and read so many horror movies/stories that involve a character (usually male) being raised as the “opposite gender” by an abusive parent and like……. do cis ppl not realize how similar this is to how most trans ppl grow up? Do they genuinely not noticed that the only difference is that it’s pretty much 100% socially acceptable and common to abuse a child into being raised as a certain gender as long as it’s the one they were assigned at birth? The stories always draw horror from the transphobic trope of a parent forcing their child to be trans but these same ppl have no problem trying to force a child to be cis.
